CJ Smith, a four-star wide receiver from Orlando, Fla., has committed to UGA football for the class of 2022.

Smith was formerly committed to the Florida Gators, but decommitted after the firing of head coach Dan Mullen.

CJ Smith announced his commitment to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs by posting a video to his Twitter account on Tuesday.

“Georgia had been reaching out ever since I opened up my recruitment, about a month ago,” Smith told UGASports.com. “I was supposed to go to Georgia on an official visit back in the summer, but when I committed to Florida I shut it all down. Once I decommitted, it went fast, setting up a home visit and official visit to UGA.”

In addition to Georgia and Florida, CJ Smith (6-3, 180) held offers from most of the top schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, BYU, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Tennessee, and others.

In the 247Sports Composite, CJ Smith is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 34 wide receiver, and the No. 224 overall recruit in the country for 2022.

Rivals.com also rates CJ Smith as a four-star recruit, the No. 46 wide receiver, and the No. 44 overall recruit from Florida.

With the addition of Smith, the Georgia Bulldogs now have 26 commitments for the class of 2022. UGA’s class is once again ranked first in the 247Sports Team Rankings, just ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
