The Georgia Bulldogs and NC State Wolfpack have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2033 and 2034, per a report from the Athens Banner-Herald.

The series will begin with Georgia hosting NC State at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2033. The following season on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2034, the Bulldogs will travel to take on the Wolfpack at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C., to conclude the two-game series.

Georgia and NC State first met on the gridiron in 1933 and have played eight games overall. The Bulldogs won the two most recent matchups of the series, 28-22 in 1972 and 31-12 in 1973, and now lead the overall series 6-1-1.

The Bulldogs’ lone loss to the Wolfpack came in the 1967 Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn., by a score of 14-7. Five seasons prior to that, the two schools met in Athens and the contest ended in a 10-10 tie.

Georgia is scheduled to open the 2033 season on the road against the Clemson Tigers on Sept. 3. The Bulldogs will also play their annual rivalry game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga., on Nov. 26.

Georgia Tech is currently the only other scheduled non-conference opponent for the Bulldogs in 2034, in addition to the newly added NC State contest.

  • Does anyone really know what is going to happen 11-12yrs down the road with the conferences? That's a ways out and I forsee a super conference/NFL type playoff by that time! How many more teams will join the SEC,BIG 10,BIG 12,ACC,PAC 12 and depending on those factors would the game even take place if it went to an all conference schedule or 32 team playoff scenario? It will be interesting for sure , but I believe that's a little to far down the road for scheduling said contest between any Conferences. Either way I look forward to all games and hopefully I'm still around and healthy to see the competition!!!!
