Georgia adds Gardner-Webb to 2020-21 basketball schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs to their 2020-21 basketball schedule, according to a report by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Georgia will host Gardner-Webb at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on the last Sunday in November (Nov. 29), per Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald.

Georgia and Gardner-Webb have met four times on the hardcourt with the Bulldogs leading the overall series 4-0. In their most recent matchup on Nov. 25, 2016, Georgia defeated GWU 77-59.

Gardner-Webb is the sixth known non-conference opponent for Georgia’s 2020-21 basketball schedule. The Bulldogs are also scheduled to host Bowling Green on Nov. 12 or Nov. 13, Cincinnati on Dec. 19, and Memphis on Jan. 2.

Road non-conference contests for the Bulldogs in 2020-21 currently include Georgia Tech on Nov. 19 and SMU on Nov. 24.

It appears that the 2020-21 season will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Georgia’s earliest scheduled game to date is against Bowling Green on Nov. 12 or Nov. 13.

The 2020-21 season will be the third for Georgia under head coach Tom Crean. Crean’s Bulldogs have an overall record of 27-37 (.422) and SEC record of 7-29 (.194).
