Josh Taylor commits to Georgia for class of 2020

Josh Taylor, a four-star power forward from Norcross, Georgia, has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for the class of 2020.

Taylor announced his commitment to Tom Crean and the Bulldogs on Wednesday. He is the first commitment for next season.

I am excited to announce that as of today I am 120% committed to Tom Crean, and The University of Georgia basketball program. I would like to thank God, my family and friends. I also wanna thank the coaches and trainers who helped prepare me for this journey. I proud to announce that I am a Georgia Bulldog.

Taylor (6-8, 195) committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over offers from Georgia Tech, Houston, LSU, St. John’s, TCU, and Texas Tech. He was also receiving interest from Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, and Virginia.

Rivals.com rates Josh Taylor as a four-star recruit and the No. 20 power forward for 2020. 247Sports has yet to issue a rating for Taylor in their 247Sports Composite.

Georgia basketball is scheduled to open the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, November 5 at home at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., against the Western Carolina Catamounts. The Bulldogs open SEC play on Tuesday, January 7 at home against the Kentucky Wildcats.
