Back in November, the San Jose State Spartans announced that they would be playing at the Georgia Bulldogs in 2021. However, a date for the game and other details were not disclosed.

Per a copy of the contract obtained via a public records request to San Jose State University, we now know the date and the financial guarantee.

The Georgia Bulldogs and San Jose State Spartans will meet at Sanford Stadium in Athens to open the 2021 season on Sept. 4. Georgia will pay San Jose State a $1.8 million guarantee for the game, per the contract.

The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

San Jose State is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Georgia in 2021. The Bulldogs are also scheduled to host UAB in on Sept. 11 and travel to Georgia Tech on Nov. 27.

In SEC action in 2021, Georgia will host Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, and Arkansas and travel to Auburn, Florida (in Jacksonville), Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
