Roquan Smith named to FWAA All-America First Team

UGA football linebacker Roquan Smith has been named to the First Team of the 2017 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-America Team, it was announced on Monday.

Roquan Smith and defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick of Alabama were the only two first-team selections from the SEC.

Roquan Smith hails from Montezuma, Georgia (Macon County). In 13 games played this season, Smith has recorded 113 total tackles (72 solo, 41 assisted), 5.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
