UGA No. 1 in first College Football Playoff rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked No. 1 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2017 season released tonight by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.

Georgia is followed by Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.

Check out the full rankings below. The rankings will likely change over the next few weeks depending on who Georgia plays and the result. But the only ranking that really matters is the final College Football Playoff ranking on Sunday, Dec. 3.

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their Top 25 rankings each week on Tuesday through Nov. 28.

On Sunday, Dec. 3 at noon ET on ESPN, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the Playoff Semifinal pairings and semifinal bowl assignments. Those will be followed by the pairings for the remainder of the New Year’s Six bowl games.

  • I just hope that these guys stay grounded in their pursuit of greater things. I have one piece of advise for Coach Smart. If you find yourself in a close game , and you are leading, don't change your game plan to burn the clock. Don't slow the offense down and get them out of their game. Use the clock to score. Maybe the defense should be called the Dog Pound. Maybe fans should chant 'Let the Dogs out' when the 'D' has to take the field...........
