Georgia Bulldogs to host Kent State Golden Flashes in 2022
The Georgia Bulldogs will host the Kent State Golden Flashes in 2022, the Athens Banner-Herald has reported.
Kent State will visit Sanford Stadium on Sept. 24, 2022. According to a copy of the contract obtained by the ABH, Georgia will pay Kent State a $1.9 million guarantee.
Georgia and Kent State have met one time on the football field. In that contest in Athens in 1998, the Bulldogs defeated the Golden Flashes 56-3.
The Bulldogs need two more non-conference games to complete their schedule for the 2022 season. Also slated to visit Sanford Stadium in 2022 is Georgia Tech on Nov. 26.
Georgia’s SEC opponents for 2022 have already been announced. The Bulldogs are slated to host Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida (in Jacksonville) and travel to Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, and Mississippi State.
UGA is set to open the 2017 season in Athens on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Appalachian State. The game will be televised by ESPN at 6:15pm ET.
