UGA fan posts touching Mark Richt tribute video

UGA fan KP Smith has posted a touching Mark Richt tribute video. The video features clips of Richt’s tenure as head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs.

No matter what your opinion is on his coaching or his dismissal, there is no doubt that Mark Richt was a great leader and mentor. He represented the University of Georgia with honor and integrity on and off the field, won a few championships along the way, and did it “The Georgia Way.”

We thank Mark Richt for his service to the Bulldog Nation, and we look forward to a new chapter under Kirby Smart. Go Dawgs!

  • Mark Richt, you are the man, the man of GOD. Thank you for all you did for Georgia and may God's blessing continue to be upon you and your family in WHATEVER you do!

  • Never thought this day would come. Thought surely Coach would be here at UGA and retire. Brings tears to my eyes and I'm sure thousand of others feel the same. YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!

  • Still cant believe this, We will truly miss you Coach Richt you will always be a Dawg to us and in life. God bless you Coach love you

  • You can call me a CMR fan and you know, you are right. I will take that all day, but at the same time, I am a diehard Ga. Bulldog fan. First and foremost, he was a great man of God who stood for who and what he believed. And then taught his foundations on God. I would not want any better of a Godly man to coach my son as I would CMR. We all have our imperfections, but in CMR, I could not find very many. He lives his life the way God wants us to. He instills Godly values into his family, his team as God wants us to. People want to call him a minister and not a coach. Guess what they are right. He does minister to people first. God says to go into all the world and preach the gospel. CMRs world was his football team and colleagues he surrounded himself with. Me personally, he will be missed in the dawg nation, seeing him wearing red & black, the big G on his cap, but most of all, the inspiration he has and the positive outlook he always has. God bless you Coach Mark Richt and your family, and may God continue to use you in greater and mightier ways than you have been used before. If I don't see you anymore on earth, we will see each other in Heaven.

  • Thank you Coach Richt for the honorable Godly example you showed the players, fans and everyone you came in contact.with.You will be missed. Miami just struck gold. God bless you and your family. Jeremiah 28:11.

  • Thank you, Coach Richt, for the example that you were while at UGA. Being a Christian and a graduate of UGA you made me proud. I pray that God will bless you in your new undertaking but you will definitely be missed by those of us who love you and the dawgs!

  • I, too, feel that Coach Richt was the right man for UGA to create an environment that as he said produced not just good players but even better men and fathers. I have always been proud to say that UGA was my school and CMR was our coach. He always took the high road which in many cases was not the easy way but his players knew he loved them and believed in them. That's my expectations from any coach not just win at any cost. Bless him and his family in their new journey. They will always be a special part of Georgia . I will always be a Dawg fan and support our team. Championships come and go but the friendships and brotherhoods that develop last a lifetime!

  • This has just broken my heart, for MAYBE a few more wins they fired someone who instilled more important values to all of us! What a wonderful man of God he is. He will receive many crowns and his family will also.

  • This was beautiful tribute that you put on.. My God be with him in his new journey for I know many of my family in Georgia will miss him..Good luck to the new coach for he has big shoes to fill..
