Georgia Tech trolls UGA with ‘State Champs’ on Orange Bowl rings
Georgia Tech’s 30-24 overtime win over Georgia last season gave the Yellow Jackets two things — their first win over the Bulldogs since 2008 and bragging rights for a year.
Tech took those bragging rights and added them to their Orange Bowl rings, which were revealed on Twitter.

Tech’s victory over Georgia last season came on the heels of what many deemed a questionable coaching decision by Mark Richt.
After taking a 24-21 lead with only 18 seconds left, Richt called for a squib kick, which Tech returned to their own 43-yard line. After one play for a 21-yard gain, the Jackets hit a 53-yard field goal to send the game to overtime.
But give Tech credit, they did what they had to do to win the game and they continue to celebrate it. What else can you do when you only beat your arch-rival once every six years or so?
Georgia has dominated Tech under Mark Richt, going 12-2 against the Yellow Jackets under his watch. Overall, Georgia leads the series against Georgia Tech 64-40-5.
The Dawgs will get their shot to reclaim the “State Champs” moniker this season with back-to back games at home against Georgia Southern on Nov. 21 and at Georgia Tech at Sanford Stadium South on Nov. 28.
