UGA moves up to 15th in College Football Playoff rankings

After trouncing Kentucky 63-31, the Georgia Bulldogs have moved up to 15th in the College Football Playoff rankings that were released tonight by the Selection Committee.

Georgia was initially ranked 11th in the CFP rankings, but fell to 20th last week after losing to Florida 38-20.

Mississippi State tops the rankings for the third straight week and is followed by Oregon, Florida State, and TCU.

Alabama is ranked 5th and Auburn dropped to 9th. Other ranked SEC teams include Ole Miss (10), LSU (17), and Texas A&M (24).

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their Top 25 rankings each week on Tuesday through Dec. 2.

On Sunday, Dec. 7 at 12:45pm ET on ESPN, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the Playoff Semifinal pairings and semifinal bowl assignments. At 2:45pm ET, the committee will announce the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowl pairings, as well as the final top 25 rankings. They will also announce the pairing for the Orange Bowl.
