Video: Mark Richt helps Watts Dantzler with ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is dominating social media this summer, and it’s for a good cause.
The challenge dares nominated participants to have a bucket of ice water dumped on their head. It’s goal is to raise awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which is more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Watts Dantzler, a senior offensive lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, was issued the challenge. In his video, he retains Mark Richt to carry out the ice water dumping.
Dantzler and others complete the challenge in honor of Watts’ father, who passed away around 5.5 years ago after a fight with ALS.
Also taking the challenge are Jean Dantzler (Watts’ mother), Carol Causby (Danny Dantzler’s sister-in-law), and Jim McCormick (Danny Dantzler’s best friend).
Awesome seeing so many people helping with ALS research. ALS was extremely tough for me and my family watching my dad…
