Georgia extends OC Mike Bobo’s contract through 2016

The Georgia Bulldogs have extended offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s contract through the 2016 football season, the AJC has reported.

Bobo and UGA agreed to the contract extension back on Jan. 27. No salary increase was included in the contract, which means Bobo will remain at $575,000 annually for now.

“It’s what Mark (Richt) wanted to do,” UGA Athletic Director Greg McGarity told the AJC. “Now Mike and (defensive coordinator) Jeremy Pruitt are on the same page as far as the duration of their contracts. That was important to Mark and we agreed to do that.”

Bobo joined the Georgia Bulldogs coaching staff in 2001 as the quarterbacks coach. Then in 2006, he also assumed the role of offensive coordinator.

Back in December, Mike Bobo was named the 2013 247Sports Offensive Coordinator of the Year.
