2014 Georgia-Arkansas Game to be Played in Little Rock
Next season, Georgia is set to travel to face the Arkansas Razorbacks on Oct. 18. The game will be played at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, the Razorbacks announced today.
Arkansas typically plays two games in the stadium per season, one non-conference game and one SEC game. In odd years from 1994 through 2010, they hosted the LSU Tigers. But beginning with the 2014 season and extending through 2018, the Hogs will only play one game in Little Rock.
War Memorial Stadium was built in 1947 and currently seats 54,120 after renovations were completed in 2010. Arkansas’ on-campus stadium, Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, seats 72,000.
Of course, that likely means there will be less tickets available for Georgia fans. But the trade off is an easier travel route, as DawgsOnline.com indicates.
Georgia is 9-4 all-time against the Arkansas Razorbacks, including 4-0 in Fayetteville, 2-2 in Athens, and 3-2 at neutral sites. In their last meeting in 2010, Arkansas defeated Georgia in Athens 31-24.
The Bulldogs open their 2014 schedule at home on Aug. 30 against the Clemson Tigers. The week prior to facing Arkansas, Georgia plays at Missouri on Oct. 11. The Dawgs are off after the trip to Little Rock and then travel to Jacksonville to face the Gators.
