ESPN is shooting a “How Do You Stop Clowney” promo around Athens for this Saturday’s edition of ESPN College GameDay.

A picture surfaced earlier this afternoon of a sign in front of the First Presbyterian Church in Athens that read “Dear God, How Do You Stop Clowney?”

That picture went viral after it was posted on Reddit and then on Twitter.

Later, a picture with a similar phrase at the Georgia Theatre surfaced. It read simply “How Do You Stop Clowney.”

The Sporting News has verified that ESPN was in fact shooting the promo in Athens and the church has already changed their sign back to its standard message.

Jadeveon Clowney and the No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks take on the No. 11 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. The game will be televised by ESPN at 4:30 p.m. ET.

  • Well, according to UNC, all you need is to give him a stomach virus and make sure the weather is HOT and HUMID!

    GO DAWGS!

  • You run it right at Clowney, first series...SET THE TONE EARLY!!! We are good enough across the front to do that and be successful!!!

  • You know we lose this game it has to be coaching! I think Mark Richt is a good person but, the talent we have i mean come on we should be able to run the table at least one year and get a championship!!
