Georgia Bulldogs Signing Day 2013 Updates & Comment Thread

Wednesday, February 6 is National Signing Day 2013. The Georgia Bulldogs are once again expected to sign a Top 10 class.

Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs currently have 30 verbal commitments. Of those 30 recruits, 13 are already enrolled at UGA. Rivals.com currently ranks Georgia’s 2013 class 10th in the nation.

The Dawgs are hoping to land a few of their big-time uncommitted targets:

  • Alvin KamaraRB (Norcross, GA) – Signed with Alabama.
  • Davin Bellamy – DE (Chamblee, GA) – Signed with UGA!
  • George AdeosunOT (Alpharetta, GA) – Signed with Virginia.
  • Laremy TunsilOT (Lake City, FL) Signed with Ole Miss.
  • Montravius AdamsDT (Vienna, GA) Signed with Auburn.

Of those four, Montravius Adams and Davin Bellamy are the two most likely to sign with the Dawgs. Laremy Tunsil is reportedly a “done deal” to Ole Miss, while Alvin Kamara is said to be leaning towards the Crimson Tide.

Georgia was late offering offensive tackle George Adeosun (6-6, 300), but he is definitely considering the Bulldogs. Adeosun reportedly favors Virginia with Oklahoma close behind.

As we do each year, Sicemdawgs.com will post the 2013 Georgia Bulldog signees as they come in. We will also update this post throughout the day (see “Live Signing Day Updates” below). Feel free to join the signing day discussion in the comments section at the bottom.

    • Actually we do need another running back. Would like Alvin Kamara, but looks like he's going to Alabama.

    • A top 10 class again! For all of those cry babies out there who have never coached more than t-ball....please find another team to pull for. Your stupidity makes us look bad....gosh I hate stupid!

  • This is becoming a major disappointment. I don't understand how we can continually go down to the wire with some of these major players and not land them. We are doing ok as we always do but to become one of the elite we need to begin winning more elite players. I recognize that not all elite HS players make it big time but I would rather sign more of them than 3 stars.

  • Another thing. Grantham needs to decide whether he is a Dog or not a Dog. If want to recruit the best players they need to know who they are playing for. Grantham, it is too late now. But if you are staying you should have said so. If you are leaving, you picked a lousy time. To be honest, your defence did not play up to the standards of the personnel we had. That can be attributed to coaching. If you stay, you need to be on fire and make things happen.

    • You are exactly right. We all love Grantham as our D-Coord. Furthermore, his intensity is such that any big name would love to play for. That said... we are kidding ourselves if we think all the entertaining of leaving didn't affect us. NOT ONCE publicly did Grantham say, "I'm a Dawg", throughout these latest NFL name droppings; and even if he would have, it's an every year deal. Price to pay for a program that has a wanted coach, but not many teenage studs are going to risk their college career, wondering if the guy that recruits them is going to be there next year. That may be why we see Ole Miss getting what they are getting, Auburn stealing a few this year (now that seem stable for at least the next few years), and stability on the entire staff is definitely Saban reigns supreme.

  • One of the main reasons we don't land more of them is because we don't pay them (which I'm glad for). A friend is an NFL trainer - one of the pros he works with from who played in the SEC told him the only people who go to Georgia are the ones who already love Georgia or who love Coach Richt.

  • I agree with Tony. To lose Tusil to Alabama would still hurt but would not have raised any eyebrows. To lose him to Ole Miss at the last minute. Something is very fishy in Oxford.
