Georgia Bulldogs tailback Isaiah Crowell was arrested and jailed last night on weapons charges, according to the Athens-Clarke County booking log.
Crowell, a 5-11, 215-pound tailback from Columbus, Georgia, was booked into the jail at 3:37 a.m. and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon in a school zone and an altered ID mark. His bond was set at $7,500.
As a freshman, Crowell rushed for 850 yards and 5 touchdowns despite missing a game and a quarter to suspension and more time due to injuries.
After his freshman season, Crowell was named to the freshman All-America First Team by CBSSports.com, Rivals.com and Yahoo Sports and All-Freshman Third Team by Phil Steele.

10:30 a.m. – The AJC reports that Crowell was stopped at a police checkpoint on East Campus Road in Athens. Cops smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and proceeded to search the vehicle. No marijuana was found, but cops did find a 9mm handgun with an altered serial number.
Crowell was arrested and the car was impounded. There were four other occupants in the car who were not arrested and their names have not been released.

when ever someone on the team does something wrong the first time, its highly probable they'll do it again to make it worse. After Crowell's first suspension, i had a six sense about him committing another team violation, but nothing this worse. Well now that he's gone, dawg fans can pray for Keith Marshall to help get our team back in action.

I feel bad for Crowell, and hope he gets his life straightened out. I totally agree with the CMR decision to remove the bad apple from the team. It sends a message to the UGA Football Team and other athletes attending UGA.
He and the Frosh who were in the car have a choice and yes, this is a defining moment guys..........You have a top tier program to exploit with all the benefits, almost guaranteed gig at the next level. Don't waste it and settle for so much less than you deserve! GROW UP
