Sanders Commings suspended for two games

Sanders CommingsGeorgia Bulldogs cornerback Sanders Commings has been suspended for two games as a result of his arrest in January, head coach Mark Richt announced today.

Commings was arrested the morning of Saturday, Jan. 31 by the University of Georgia Police Department and charged with domestic violence/simple battery. The victim was a 23 year old female UGA student who lived with Commings.

Commings will miss the 2012 season opener against Buffalo on Sept. 1 and the SEC opener at Missouri on Sept. 8.

Arraignment for Sanders Commings is scheduled for March 22, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Athens-Clarke County State Court.

Commings, a 6-2, 217 pound rising Senior from Augusta, Georgia, started all 13 games for the Dawgs in 2011. He made 48 tackles, four tackles for loss, recorded a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and 12 pass break-ups.
