Rivals.com rates Dawson as a 3-star recruit and the no. 27 athlete in the country. Scout.com rates him as a 4-star recruit and the no. 11 cornerback.
Dawson (5-11, 169, 4.4) committed to the Dawgs over offers from several top schools, including Arkansas, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas Tech. Dawson plays on both sides of the ball at Ridgeway but will likely line up at cornerback between the hedges.
