Georgia’s final record was 10-4 overall and 7-1 in the SEC. However, the Dawgs lost their final two games, 42-10 vs. LSU in the SEC Championship Game and 33-30 vs. Michigan State in the Outback Bowl.
The Bulldogs haven’t been ranked in one of the final polls since the 2008 season. That year UGA finished 10-3 and was ranked 13th in the AP and 10th in the Coaches. Overall, Georgia has ended the season ranked in one of the two major polls 34 times.
Georgia will likely be a preseason Top 10 team heading into the 2012 season. The Bulldogs return most of their starters and key backups. A few juniors, such as Orson Charles and Bacarri Rambo, may opt to enter the NFL Draft.
