Crowell finished the game with 58 yards rushing on 19 carries and two receptions for five yards. True freshman wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell had three receptions for 126 yards.
The story of the day again was the Dawgs’ defense, which held Tennessee to 270 yards and -20 on the ground. The Vols only touchdown came late in the game in the hurry-up offense. And the Dawgs dealt the Volunteers another blow by blocking the extra point and keeping the lead at eight.
Mark Richt is now 7-4 against Tennessee and 2-0 against Derek Dooley. Overall, the Bulldogs are now 18-21-2 against Tennessee.
Next up for Georgia is a trip to Nashville to face the Vanderbilt Commodores (Sat., Oct. 15). The game will be televised by FSN at 7:00 p.m. ET (Tickets).

Was anybody else a little perplexed by how we played and coached the 4th quarter? I KINDA understand that maybe Bobo just wanted to get off the field quickly when it was 2nd and 56. That would explain why he called run plays that time. But then our next 2 possessions, we continued to call run plays and punt the ball. It's like our offense stopped playing with 10 minutes left in the game, and Bobo was calling plays that made it look like we weren't even trying anymore. The game was far from over with that much time left on the clock. I'm glad we got the win, but coaching like that could have easily ended differently.
Yes. We played way too conservative, starting with the 2nd and 56 series. Two runs for negative yardage and then a punt.
Saw a quote yesterday where CMR said we were too conservative in the 4th, so at least he acknowledged it.

I agree with you Augusta i see SOME of the reasons Bobo would do the run plays on a 2nd and 56 but ALOT can happen in 10 min and we shoulda kept it running and not start shutting it down.Football is 4 quarters not 2 or 3,but with that said i believe we got a good team and we can take florida and auburn IF we play 4 quarters i would like to hear other peoples opinions.
