SG Kenny Gaines commits to the Georgia Bulldogs for 2012

Kenny GainesMark Fox has picked up another verbal commitment for 2012. Rivals150 shooting guard Kenny Gaines of Mableton (Whitefield Academy) committed to Georgia today and is the second for the 2012 class.

Gaines (6-4, 190) is also a member of the Georgia Stars AAU team. He had offers from several top schools including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Marquette, Miami (FL), South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas Tech, West Virginia and others.

Rivals.com ranks Gaines as a 3-star recruit, the no. 24 shooting guard and 109th overall in the 2012 class. Scout.com also ranks Gaines 3-stars and the no. 21 shooting guard.

Gaines joins Rivals150 point guard Charles Mann in the backcourt for the Hoop Dawgs in 2012. Currently, Georgia has two more scholarships to give for the 2012 class.

The early signing period for basketball begins on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 and runs through Wednesday, November 16, 2011. The late signing period is from Wednesday, April 11, 2012 through Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
