Dawgs add Southern to 2015 football schedule
Georgia has a memorandum of understanding to play the Southern Jaguars in 2015, TheAdvocate.com reported yesterday.
Since the Jaguars do not currently have an athletics director, Southern head coach Stump Mitchell scheduled the game. But school Chancellor James Llorens “has to sign off on it.”
If the game stands, Georgia will host Southern on September 5, 2015 in Athens. Marc Weiszer reports that UGA will pay the Jaguars $650,000 to play the game.
Southern is the 2nd non-conference game scheduled for the Dawgs in 2015. Georgia will also travel to Georgia Tech on November 28. The Jaguars will be the season opener, most likely followed by a visit from South Carolina the next weekend.
