Price Leads Georgia over Auburn 81-72 in Overtime
Jeremy Price scored 22 points to lead the Georgia Bulldogs over the Auburn Tigers 81-72 in overtime. With the win, the Hoop Dawgs are now 16-6 overall and 5-4 in the SEC.
Price’s 22 points matched his career high and his 14 rebounds set a new one. He was 6-of-9 from the floor and 10-of-13 at the free throw line.
Georgia led 66-61 with 2:38 remaining in regulation, but a few turnovers enabled Auburn to score four points in the last 13 seconds to tie the game. The Dawgs closed overtime on a 10-0 run to put the Tigers away.
Travis Leslie scored 20 points and Trey Thompkins added 16 for the Bulldogs. Thompkins is now the ninth Bulldog all-time to score 1,200 points and 600 rebounds in a career.
Next up for Georgia is a non-conference home game against Xavier on Tuesday, February 8. The game will be televised by ESPNU at 7:00 p.m. ET.
