Dawgs Beat Tennessee 69-63 in Knoxville
Georgia hung on late to beat Tennessee 69-63 on Saturday. It was the first win for the Bulldogs in Knoxville in 10 years.
The Bulldogs opened up a 30-16 lead in the first half before the Volunteers whittled it down to 8 points going into halftime.
In the second half, Tennessee gained the lead with just under 10 minutes left. But Georgia took the lead back with 6:30 remaining and held on for the road victory.
With the win, the Hoop Dawgs are now 18-8 overall and 7-5 in the SEC. It was a huge win on the road and looks good on Georgia’s NCAA Tournament resume.
Jeremy Price led the Bulldogs with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Travis Leslie scored 15, Dustin Ware had 12 and Trey Thompkins added 11.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a trip to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators on Thursday, February 24 (7:00 p.m. ET; ESPN2).
The Gators are currently ranked 15th and lead the SEC East with a 9-2 record (20-5 overall).
