Tennessee’s Buzzer-Beater Drops Georgia 59-57

Tennessee’s Brian Williams all but climbed over Chris Barnes’ back to score the buzzer-beater and drop the Georgia Bulldogs 59-57 in Athens. The shot had to be reviewed, but clearly left Williams’ hand before the final buzzer.
Georgia, coming off an impressive 98-point performance at Ole Miss, looked tired and disinterested in falling to 13-4 overall and 2-2 in the SEC.
Gerald Robinson, Jr. and Travis Leslie each scored 14 points and Trey Thompkins added 13 for the Hoop Dawgs.
Jeremy Price again got into foul trouble, picking up 4 in only 9 minutes on the floor. He ended the evening with 0 points.
The officials for this game, Anthony Jordan, Ted Valentine and J.B. Caldwell, clearly let both team’s “play.” Georgia only shot 13 free-throws while the Volunteers attempted a mere 7.
Next up for the Hoop Dawgs is a home game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, January 22. The game will be televised by the SEC Network at 4:00 p.m. ET.
