Dawgs beat Augusta State 85-48 in exhibition game

The Georgia Bulldogs opened the 2010-11 basketball season with an 85-48 exhibition win over Augusta State. Dustin Ware and Jeremy Price led the Dawgs with 14 points each.

Junior guard Gerald Robinson, Jr. scored 12 points and added 10 assists in only 20 minutes of play. It was his first game as a Bulldog after sitting out last year under NCAA transfer rules.

Also scoring for the Bulldogs was Travis Leslie (10), Donte’ Williams (9), Chris Barnes (7), Marcus Thornton (7), Sherrard Brantley (5), Matt Bucklin (4) and Connor Nolte (3).

Junior forward and SEC pre-season player of the year Trey Thompkins did not play and is out two to six weeks after suffering a high-ankle sprain in practice last Saturday. Head coach Mark Fox said that Thompkins could miss all of November, including the Old Spice Classic in Orlando.

The Bulldogs open the regular season at home on Friday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m.against Mississippi Valley State. The game will be televised by CSS.
