King, a junior from Norcross, Georgia, was booked into the jail at 5:08 a.m. this morning. The charge against him is listed as “Hold/Other Agency.”
Usually, when an offender is jailed for a “Hold/Other Agency” it means that he has an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction. The warrant could range from failure to pay a traffic ticket fine to a bench warrant for failure to appear.
Marc Weiszer’s article indicated that King’s home was searched for stolen property on Friday and that UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said they “did not believe any student-athletes were involved in the theft.” It’s possible that they ran King’s name through the GCIC and found the warrant.
And why pick him up at 5 a.m. on a Monday morning? It’s the perfect time to catch King at home, right before he leaves for football practice.
Let’s see how this develops before we go overboard. One thing is for sure, the arrest will likely get King a one-game suspension.
UPDATE (8:50 a.m.) – Caleb King is being held on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge in Walton County, Georgia. King was cited for speeding on June 20 and was supposed to appear in court on August 6.

Instead of talking about what a good game we played on Sat. We will now have to deal with King in Jail!!!!! These guys need to take responsibility for their actions and BULLDAWG up when they make a mistake and face the music. I'm really getting tired of seeing this headline. We cant win if our guys are all in jail or suspended. This is just Stupid!!!!
