Georgia to host Charleston Southern in 2014, Georgia Southern in 2016
Georgia has added games against Charleston Southern and Georgia Southern to their future football schedules, Marc Weiszer has reported.
The Bulldogs will host the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on November 22, 2014 and the Georgia Southern Eagles on November 19, 2016.
Georgia has never faced Charleston Southern. The Buccaneers are a member of the Big South Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision. They are 0-7 against FBS teams.
Georgia and Georgia Southern have met four times and each game was played in Athens. The Bulldogs lead the overall series 4-0. The last meeting was in 2008, a 45-21 victory for Georgia.
The Bulldogs and Eagles will also meet in Athens on November 3, 2012.
Georgia needs one more game to complete their 2014 non-conference schedule (Clemson, Charleston Southern and Georgia Tech) and two games to complete 2016 (Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech).
New Athletic Director Greg McGarity favors a 7-game home schedule for the Bulldogs. He also prefers to play one FCS team per season.
