The 75th game between Georgia and Mercer will be played on Mercer’s campus at The University Center, which was opened in 2005 and seats 3,200.
Although the seating may be insufficient, the game is a good opportunity for middle and south Georgia basketball fans to catch Mark Fox’s team in action.
The last time Georgia visited Mercer was on December 3, 1994. The Hugh Durham coached Dawgs won 81-71.
Their most recent meeting was on December 23, 1999 in Athens. The Bulldogs, then coached by Jim Harrick, beat the Mercer Bears 88-54.
Georgia and Mercer first played in the 1906-07 season and have played 74 times overall. The Bulldogs lead the series 51-23.

We should probably wait to label other schools' venues insufficient until we can avoid being outdrawn in Gwinnett County by Illinois. I've seen "the UC" as Mercer calls it. While smaller, it's actually a helluva lot nicer facility than the Stegasaurus at the moment. That is why its a good thing the old gal is getting a facelift. Excited about seeing the hoop dawgs without having to drive up and get home after midnight though.
I agree, but I was speaking strictly in terms of the seating capacity. With the enthusiasm Fox has brought to the program, and the better players, I would think that we would have a god turnout in Macon.
