Home of UGA’s Shawn Williams Lost in Fire; Fundraiser Started
A fund raising effort has been initiated after a fire destroyed the Damascus home of Georgia Bulldogs safety Shawn Williams. In 2009, Williams appeared in 13 games and recorded five tackles. He also posted a career-best three tackles in UGA’s victory over Texas A&M in the Independence Bowl.
From UGA Sports Communications:
The home of Georgia strong safety Shawn Williams was lost in a fire Tuesday night in his hometown of Damascus.
Williams, a rising sophomore, played in all 13 games for the Bulldogs last season.
Fundraising efforts have been established to assist in expenses necessary to replace the belongings lost in the fire. After consultation with the NCAA, donations must be deposited into a special account at the Bank of Early (county): Bank of Early, PO Box 527, Blakely, GA 39823, Attn: Andy Smith.
