2010 Old Spice Classic First Round Matchups

The 2010 Old Spice Classic basketball tournament bracket has not been officially released yet, but the first round matchups are known. As we reported last week, Georgia will face Notre Dame.

Madison.com reports that the Wisconsin Badgers will face the Manhattan Jaspers. They also state that Wisconsin will play the winner of Boston College and Texas A&M.

With Georgia playing Notre Dame, that leaves California and Temple as the last remaining first round game. The winner of Georgia-Notre Dame should face the California-Temple winner. The losers will also square off.

Each team in the tournament is guaranteed three games. Win all three and you are the champion, lose and you go to one of the losers brackets. With eight teams in this format, there ends up being a championship game, 3rd place, 5th place and 7th place game on the final day of the tournament.

In other Bulldog basketball scheduling news, Georgia Sports Blog hears that the Dawgs may host Marshall.

  • This is a tournament we can win IF we play well. Although we did go winless in true road games last year.
