Dawgs Hire Scott Lakatos as Defensive Backs Coach

Scott LakatosScott Lakatos has been named the new defensive backs coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, the school announced today. Lakatos was the defensive backs coach at Connecticut for the past six seasons.

Lakatos helped the Huskies defense achieve the 9th ranking in pass efficiency defense in 2008 and 2009. The Huskies were ranked 10th in the same category in 2007.

Listed below is Scott Lakatos’ coaching history:

  • 1988-89 – Western Connecticut State; Secondary Coach
  • 1990-91 – Boston University; Outside Linebackers Coach
  • 1992-93 – Syracuse; Assistant Coach
  • 1994 – New Haven; Defensive Coordinator & Linebacker Coach
  • 1995 – Maine; Secondary Coach
  • 1996-99 – Maine; Secondary & Special Teams Coach
  • 2000 – Maine; Defensive Coordinator & Linebacker Coach
  • 2001-03 – Rutgers; Secondary Coach
  • 2004-2010 – Connecticut; Secondary Coach
