Uga VII, the Georgia Bulldogs mascot, has passed away of a heart attack, multiple sources are reporting. Uga VII, nicknamed “Loran’s Best”, was born in 2005 and was 4 years old.
Uga VII took over for his son, Uga VI, on August 30, 2008 at the Georgia Southern game. After a little over a year as the Bulldogs mascot, Uga VII had a 16-7 record (10-5 SEC) and a Capital One Bowl win over Michigan State.
The University of Georgia released their official statement at 6:44 p.m. confirming Uga VII’s death.
Uga VII was a Damn Good Dawg! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bulldog Nation.
