Mississippi State Finishes Off Georgia 79-60

SicEmDawgs.com

The Dawgs went in to the 2009 SEC Tournament in Tampa, Florida hoping to pull off another miracle run. That didn’t happen. Mississippi State graciously finished off Georgia’s dismal season with a 79-60 beatdown.

Georgia couldn’t get hot from the floor and faded away about midway through the 1st half. After leading 15-14 with 11:33 remaining, MSU went on a 26-11 run to lead by 14 at halftime. The Dawgs finished the season 12-20 (3-13 SEC) after enduring a mid-season firing of head coach Dennis Felton.

Now that the season is finally over, Damon Evans and the Georgia Bulldog basketball program can get down to the business at hand – finding their next head basketball coach. And if the Orlando Sentinel is correct, the Dawgs don’t plan to “search for a coach“, they plan to “buy one from another program. A big-timer” (Source).

Some of the rumored names for the UGA head coaching position include Jeff Capel, Sean Miller, Tubby Smith, Brad Stephens, Anthony Grant, Mike Anderson and Dino Gaudio. And in the same Orlando Sentinel article linked above, Bill Self is mentioned. Self? Not. Going. To. Happen.
