DL Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Rodney Garner To Remain With Georgia
After entertaining offers from the Auburn Tigers a couple of weeks ago and most recently from the Tennessee Volunteers, defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner has announced he will remain in Athens with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Rodney Garner has been with the Bulldogs since 1998 and was hired away from Tennessee by Jim Donnan. When Mark Richt was hired, Garner was the only assistant retained from Donnan’s staff. In 2005, Richt awarded Garner with the title of Assistant Head Coach.
This is an important staff retention for the Bulldogs. Rodney Garner is a veteran of the Georgia Bulldog program and is a great recruiter. Although we probably won’t have him forever, it’s nice to know that he will be back for another season between the hedges.
