Dawgs Fall To Western Kentucky 67-63

Poor shooting doomed the Bulldogs again as they fell to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 67-63 (Box Score). The Dawgs shot only 38% overall from the floor, but did hold WKU to a measley 32%. The difference in the game was at the free throw line, where the Hilltoppers made 18-of-27 compared to the Bulldogs’ 6-of-12.

Terrance Woodbury had the hot hand for the Dawgs in the first half, scoring 16 points and finishing with 18 overall. Trey Thompkins added 10 points off the bench.

Georgia, now 5-2, travels to Chicago on Saturday to face the Illinois Fighting Illini at the United Center. The game will be broadcast at 12:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

  • The Hoop Dawgs are not looking good against Illinois right now. This would be a good win if we can turn it around.

  • Free-throws and youth were the difference in the WKU game. We were out of control on the offensive side several times. And we took some ill-advised 3-pointers. Hopefully, this will change as the young guys mature.
