Dawgs Improve To 4-1 After Win Over Santa Clara

The Georgia Bulldogs improved their record to 4-1 after a 54-48 win over Santa Clara yesterday in an NIT Season Tip-Off consolation game. Playing in his first game as a Bulldog, freshman Howard “Trey” Thompkins scored 10 points and grabbed 2 rebounds. Thompkins also blocked 5 shots and had 1 steal.
Terrance Woodbury (14 points) and Albert Jackson (12 points) led the Hoop Dawgs in scoring. Although the Dawgs only shot a dismal 34% from the field, their tenacious defense held the Broncos to a lackluster 36.8%.
Georgia plays their final NIT Season Tip-Off game tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET against the MIssissippi Valley State Delta Devils. The Bulldogs will be tested after that with big games at Western Kentucky, at Illinois (at Chicago) and home against Virginia Tech.
