New home revealed for Devon Gales and family

It’s been a long road for Devon Gales and his family, but they received a true blessing today as their new accessible home in Jefferson, Georgia, was revealed.

Tyisha Fernandes of WSB-TV in Atlanta was on hand to document the unveiling, and she captured several emotional moments.

Former UGA placekicker Marshall Morgan, who has become good friends with Devon Gales, was also on hand for the reveal with his newborn son. A tackle by Morgan during a kickoff return injured Gales back in 2015 during a game between UGA and Southern.

Former UGA linebacker Whit Marshall donated the lot in the Traditions of Braselton neighborhood, which is situated in Jackson County. Several Georgia alumni and donors contributed to the project, and Currahee Home Builders took on the construction effort.

Devon Gales currently works as an assistant coach for the nearby Jefferson High School Dragons. He is still receiving treatment at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

Congrats to the Gales family on their new home!

  • Very happy to see them move in! Does anyone know if the Gales hoody with the power G is available for purchase and where?

    • Don't think it's available anymore. The first company that tried to raise funds offered those shirts, but they were later replaced by another charitable drive.
