Dawgs Lose To Fresno State In College World Series Final

After splitting the first two games of the series, Georgia and Fresno State faced off in the final game to determine the 2008 National Champion. Unfortnately for the Dawgs, pitcher Justin Wilson and right fielder Steve Detwiler willed Fresno State to their first ever College World Series title and first ever National Championship in a men's sport.  Full Story...


Bulldogs Beat Wolfpack To Advance To 2008 College World Series

The Georgia Bulldogs crushed the North Carolina State Wolfpack 17-8 to win the Athens Super Regional 2 games to 1 in the best-of-three series. The Dawgs scored 9 runs in the first inning and never trailed in the game. This will be Georgia's 3rd appearance in the College World Series in the past five years.  Full Story...


Dawgs Beat Georgia Tech 18-6, Advance To 2008 Super Regional

After losing the first game of the Athens Regional to Lipscomb, the Georgia Bulldogs were faced with an uphill climb to the 2008 Super Regionals. After defeating Louisville on Saturday and then Lipscomb on Sunday, the Dawgs faced arch-rival Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs bombed the Jackets 8-0 on Sunday and 18-6 on Monday to advance.  Full Story...


Georgia Baseball To Host 2008 NCAA Regional

After clinching the SEC Baseball Championship, the Diamond Dawgs struggled going 1-4 in their last 5 games, including two losses to eliminate them from the SEC Tournament. Diamond Dawgs Leading The SEC With Less Than A Month To Go

With less than a month remaining in the regular season, the Diamond Dogs are leading the SEC with a 14-3-1 record (28-12-1 overall). Georgia is currently ranked 10th by Baseball America, 7th by Collegiate Baseball and 12th by USA Today/ESPN. Gordon Beckham has powered the Bulldogs this year and is currently batting .422 with 68 hits (19 home runs, 14 doubles, 1 triple) and 46 RBI's.  Full Story...

Three Diamond Dawgs Taken In 1st Day Of MLB Draft

One current Georgia Junior and two Georgia baseball signees were selected on Day 1 of the 2007 MLB Draft. Outfielder Ben Revere, who signed with the Dawgs in November 2006, was taken as the 29th pick in the 1st round by the Minnesota Twins.  Full Story...


Georgia Baseball Finishes 2007 Season 23-33

The Diamond Dogs blew an 11-run lead and lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks 14-13, ending their 2007 season. Heading in to the 8th inning, the Gamecocks trailed 13-5 but then scored 9 runs to take the game. With a mediocre conference record of 11-19, the Georgia Bulldogs did not qualify for the 2007 SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.  Full Story...
