Dawgs Beat Georgia Tech 18-6, Advance To 2008 Super Regional

After losing the first game of the Athens Regional to Lipscomb, the Georgia Bulldogs were faced with an uphill climb to the 2008 Super Regionals. After defeating Louisville on Saturday and then Lipscomb on Sunday, the Dawgs faced arch-rival Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs bombed the Jackets 8-0 on Sunday and 18-6 on Monday to advance.

The Diamond Dawgs will face the N.C. State Wolfpack this weekend for a best-of-three game series in Athens. The winner will advance to the 2008 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The Athens Super Regional schedule is listed below:

Friday, June 6

Game 2: N.C. State at Georgia , 12:00 p.m., ESPN2

Sunday, June 8
